Queen Elizabeth News: Many footballers and coaches around the world have paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who breathed her last on Thursday at the age of 96.
Born in 1926, Queen Elizabeth II became Queen of the United Kingdom on February 6, 1952.
Her reign lasted more than 70 years and she became the longest reigning monarch in the country before passing away at her residence in Balmoral. Her eldest son and her heir apparent, Prince Charles, will now be King of the United Kingdom.
With the death of the Queen, England has now entered a period of official mourning. It has been announced that her funeral will take place in a fortnight.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, yesterday at her residence in Balmoral, numerous footballers, former players and managers paid tribute to the Queen.
Former England international Gary Linekar was among the first to share his condolences.
Speaking on Twitter, the former England international said: “Such a terribly sad day. Her Majesty the Queen is dead. A truly remarkable woman who served her country with dignity, loyalty and grace. An ever-present consolation in the lives of most of us. Rest in peace, Your Majesty.”
Another former England international, Michael Owen, thanked the Queen for his life’s work and paid tribute to her. Meanwhile, her colleague Rio Ferdinand also shared her condolences to the Royal Family.
Considered the best player of all time, Pelé has shared his admiration for the Queen and paid tribute to her.
Current England international Mason Mount, Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and many more have shared their condolences to the Royal Family.
Former Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester United manager José Mourinho recalled his time in England. The Portuguese coach considered the Queen a “wonderful personality”.
Former Arsenal player Mesut Ozil sent his condolences to the Royal Family.
Queen Elizabeth witnessed the greatest moment in English football history when she won the World Cup in 1966 on her home soil. The English Football Association remembered that time and shared the memory of the Queen presenting the Jules Rimme Trophy to England captain Bobby Moore.
