He may no longer fight professionally and may be forty-five years old, but Floyd Mayweather showed he can still turn out the lights when he knocked out mixed martial arts notable Mikurua Asakura on Saturday in Japan. The exhibition fight came as part of a multi-fight deal Mayweather has with promotional network RIZN. The large crowd that had gathered at the Saitama Super Arena witnessed a battle that, while brief, saw his compatriot of his battle the old ring quite effectively. However, when it came time to turn up the heat, Mayweather was able to take down his man and knock him out as the second round drew to a close.

After the battle was over, Mayweather took a moment to politely address the crowd and say no to his vanquished foe. “A round of applause for this great competitor right here,” he told the live audience. Mayweather’s arch-rival Manny Pacquiao was on hand to witness his old foe in action on Saturday, which is interesting as word is getting out that Pacquiao himself now apparently wants to participate in the kind of lucrative exhibitions Mayweather has been cashing in on. Recently. That said, Mayweather has indicated that he has no interest in facing Pacquiao, whom he defeated in a highly anticipated 2015 superfight, in the ring again.
