The group stage matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup have concluded. Of the 32 teams that qualified for the tournament, sixteen teams have booked their place in the round of 16 of the latest edition of FIFA’s flagship event.
With the group matches now over, it has become clear who will face whom in the round of 16, for a place in the quarter-finals of the quadrennial event.

Netherlands vs United States of America
The Netherlands booked their place in the round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after finishing first in Group A, with seven points from three games. The United States, for its part, qualified for the round of 16 with a second place in Group B, with five points.
Argentina against Australia
The Argentina national soccer team put behind it a loss to Saudi Arabia in their opening match to advance to the round of 16 as winners of Group C. The South American heavyweights had six points from three matches. Against Argentina in the round of 16 is Australia, who finished second in Group D with six points.
Japan vs Croatia
Japan have caused two of the biggest upsets the 2022 FIFA World Cup has seen. They started their campaign with a 2-1 win over Germany. They slumped to a 1-0 loss to Costa Rica in their next match.
But Japan sealed their place in the round of 16 after securing a 2-1 victory over Spain. Japan advanced to the knockout round as the winner of Group E. Croatia, meanwhile, qualified from Group F, with five points from three games.
Brazil vs South Korea
The Brazil national soccer team earned their place in the last 32 as winners of Group G. They sealed their place in the next stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after victories in their first two matches. However, they lost 1-0 to Cameroon in their third game. Meanwhile, South Korea qualified for the round of 16 of Group H, where they finished behind Portugal. South Korea gained four points from three matches in Group H.
England vs Senegal
The England national soccer team qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup round of 16 as winners of Group B with seven points from three matches. Senegal, for its part, comes into the match against England after finishing second in Group A, with six points.
France vs Poland
The France national soccer team was the first team to qualify for the round of 16 at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. They collected six points from three matches in Group D. Meanwhile, Poland advanced beyond the group stage after finish second in Group C with four points.

Morocco vs Spain
Morocco topped Group F with seven points from three games. Meanwhile, Spain finished second in Group E after losing to Japan 2-1 in their final group game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
portugal vs switzerland
The Portugal national soccer team earned a place in the round of 16 after finishing top of the table in Group H. They recorded two wins and one loss from three games in Group H. Meanwhile, Switzerland qualified from Group G after finishing second with six points
