After missing the weekend’s game against Hellas Verona, Federico Chiesa’s condition is raising more eyebrows.
The Italian returned to the pitch last October after a break, but has been forced to stop on several occasions due to a mysterious condition.
As we reported yesterday, the club’s medical staff have been struggling to identify the player’s condition, while the latter still complains of recurring pain.
But as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport via Ilbianconero, Chiesa trained on Sunday along with the rest of the Juventus players who did not play against Verona over the weekend.
However, the real test will be today, as it should be the last chance for the winger’s condition to be assessed by the medical and coaching staff before Tuesday’s clash against Inter in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final.
So if the 25-year-old shows up in good shape, we can expect him to be part of the matchday squad. But if the pain comes back, Max Allegri will probably keep him out of the game.
In the latter case, the medical staff will consider an in-depth arthroscopy to help them determine once and for all the player’s condition.
