Liverpool have received a huge boost ahead of Monday night’s clash against Newcastle with Alexis Mac Allister seen training today.
The Argentina international has missed the Reds’ last six games with a knee injury sustained during our 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United earlier this month.
The World Cup winner has made 18 appearances (in all competitions) so far this season and had earned a regular starting spot in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield before his injury.

In his press conference today, our German tactician stated that he would have to wait and see if our number 10 is ready for the visit of Eddie Howe’s team, but images provided by Sky Sports on X suggest that Mac Allister is ready to return to action. .
The former Boca Juniors player, previously described as “fantastic” by Klopp (via BBC), was among his teammates as they completed some light exercises on the grass at the AXA Training Centre.
Liverpool currently sit two points clear at the top of the Premier League table and will be looking to pick up another huge three points against Newcastle to start 2024 off right.
Mac Allister’s return to fitness comes at a great time considering our clash with Newcastle will be Wataru Endo’s last game before heading to the Asian Games with Japan.
