Fagioli insists all he wanted was to remain at JuventusJuvefc.com

Nicolo Fagioli has revealed that all he wanted to do this summer was stay at Juventus.

The midfielder is now one of the Bianconeri first-team academy players.

He spent last season on loan at Cremonese and did well to help them gain promotion to Serie A.

Having enjoyed his time away, he hoped he would be kept at the Allianz Stadium for this campaign.

However, reports claimed that he would again leave the club on loan because the Bianconeri had too many midfielders and some were ahead of him in the pecking order.

But the transfer window closed and he was left behind. He has now revealed that his goal has always been to stay at the club.

He said, as quoted by Corriere Dello Sport:

“My dream was to stay permanently.

“4/5 years ago I was up and down. There was the possibility of a loan, so I am very happy. I think the U23 was important because the transition between Primavera and the first team is extensive. Facing professional players helps a lot to grow and then be more prepared in the first team. It was a very wise choice. “

Juve FC says

Fagioli did well at Cremonese and we heard about his exploits in Serie B.

His away form deserves him to start, but Fabio Miretti is now ahead of him in the pecking order and he needs to be more patient and wait for his chance.
