Following a meeting today, Fabrizio Romano says there is still no deal for the sale of Fernandez to Chelsea with many key details still to be worked out.
The biggest of these is how the €120m fee payments to Benfica will be structured, as Chelsea could be in trouble with financial fair play if not done correctly; the other is the termination clause in the midfielder’s contract with the Blues along with other minor details.
There is still plenty of time for Chelsea to finish this deal, however the longer it drags on, the more chance there is of another club stepping up and grabbing the deal.
