Fabrizio Romano shoots down links with Patrik Schick as striker hunt intensifies – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are currently sixth in the Premier League table with 20 points to their name. They are just three points behind third-placed Tottenham Hotspur with one game remaining.

His next challenge in the league comes in the form of West Ham United and it will be a tough test for Erik ten Hag, especially considering the form of his strikers.

In their last three league games, United have taken 56 shots in total but managed to score just three times, a very damning stat for the Red Devils.

United in the hunt for the striker

Marcus Rashford, who seemed to be rejuvenated, has not scored in the last five games, while Jadon Sancho seems to be struggling.

To top it off, Anthony Martial remains eternally injured and Cristiano Ronaldo’s theatricality off the pitch is more news than his contributions on the pitch.

In the midst of this crisis, supporters have been voicing their opinion in a bid to force the Glazers to spend through the January transfer window and buy a striker.

The winder market can be notoriously tough to find good deals on the market for, but United could end up regretting it if they don’t get stronger early in January.

There’s a chance that United’s number 7 will end up leaving, making it all the more necessary to dive into the striker market.

Joao Felix has been named as a potential option, while former caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick had singled out Patrik Schick as the preferred option.

Schick was an option under Rangnick, not ETH

Even the Daily Mirror had recently reported that United could return for the Czech Republic international.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, while admitting that Schick is of interest to many English clubs, also mentioned that such links seem a bit premature at the moment.

“There is talk again that Patrik Schick is an option for Manchester United. He was one of the players discovered by Ralf Rangnick, but there are no ongoing contacts now yet,” the Italian wrote in his exclusive CaughtOffside column.

One of the main reasons United might not revisit his interest is because of the striker’s inconsistency.

“I think he is a very talented player, but he needs to be more consistent; For sure he could be a good fit for a lot of big clubs in the Premier League.”

The Glazers are reluctant to spend in January and that could make the difference between United being in the top four or not at the end of the season.
