Fabrizio Romano reveals how LFC plan to spend their money beyond Jude Bellingham signing

Fabrizio Romano has advised Liverpool fans to keep a close eye on “the centre-back situation” amid reported interest in midfielders ahead of the summer window.

The Reds are awaiting the fitness of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate after successive injuries sidelined them at short notice.

“For sure Liverpool want to support Klopp in the summer with the new signings,” the Italian reporter told Caught Offside exclusively.

“Bellingham is the top priority, but there is a chance they could opt for one more midfielder due to the contract situation of Keita, Milner and Chamberlain.”

“I would also watch the situation of the central defenders.”

Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have proven unconvincing as a center midfield pairing in the back line, raising questions about the need to invest in the heart of the defence.

With one year left on the first’s terms once the campaign is halted, serious offers are expected to be considered in the summer.

We have doubts about the possibility of the number 2 following suit, given that Nat Phillips should finally win his long-awaited exit from Anfield, although there is a chance that not all of the available budget will be spent in the middle of the park.

Jude Bellingham will, of course, be the priority and it is not clear to what extent the Englishman will test our resources if we are victorious in the three-way battle for his signature.

One thing is absolutely clear regardless: we cannot afford not to invest heavily in the next window in light of the difficulties the entire team is experiencing this term.
