Last January, Juventus pulled off what was arguably the biggest coup of the winter transfer session by signing Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina.
Nonetheless, Arsenal had offered the Bianconeri some competition as they tried to lure the Serb away from the Italian mainland.
Although they failed to add the striker to Mike Arteta’s ranks, some rumors still circulating link him with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano poured cold water on the suggestion, believing the Gunners have not approached the 22-year-old just yet.
Although Vlahovic is having a tough time at Juventus recently, the Italian journalist hopes the club will back him, especially after investing a hefty sum to sign him earlier this year.
Furthermore, the center forward is not the only player currently underperforming under Max Allegri’s watch.
“At the moment there is absolutely nothing between Dusan Vlahovic and Arsenal. We cannot predict the future but as of now there is not even direct contact,” he said in his exclusive column for CaughtOffside.
“Vlahovic is a key player for Juventus and they spent €75m plus add-ons for him, so it is highly unlikely.
“He was great last season with Juventus, this year all the players aren’t performing, so I don’t think it’s Vlahovic’s fault that he’s not at his best yet.”
