Manchester United were offered the chance to sign Napoli winger Hirving Lozano, according to numerous reports.
In recent days, links and reports have emerged about United’s interest in the Mexican striker.
His former representative, Alessandro Monfrecola, has indicated that the player could leave the Italian top flight next June.
In addition to the Red Devils, Monfrecola also mentioned Real Madrid, Barcelona and Everton as other possible destinations.
However, according to Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the buzz surrounding a possible move to Old Trafford by the 27-year-old could be due more to an agent than anything else.
Romano reports: “It is important to clarify that it is the player’s former agent who has given quotes to the press about a possible move to Old Trafford.”
“From what they tell me, they offered him to Manchester United, nothing more.”
“They never made any offer for Napoli.”
Romano insists that the situation around the player is calm at the moment and that he is happy in Napoli under Luciano Spalletti.
Romano also revealed what Lozano’s price could be. “I think the price of him could be around 20-25 million euros.”
The player is tied to a contract with his current employers until 2024, although the terms of the deal could invite other parties to fight for his signature.
Lozano is said to be a fan of English and Spanish football and would be keen to prove himself in another league with a new challenge.
