Exclusive: Erling Haaland confirmed as Man City’s top earner as Fabrizio Romano comments on “crazy numbers”

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed in his exclusive CaughtOffside column that Erling Haaland is Manchester City’s main earner alongside Kevin De Bruyne.

The Norway international is having a breakout season for Man City, scoring a staggering 20 goals in his first 13 games for the club in all competitions.

Unsurprisingly, this has generated plenty of headlines about Haaland, including how much the 22-year-old is actually earning from his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

It has been suggested that Haaland may be by far the highest earner in the Premier League, with Mail Plus claiming his weekly salary is around £865,000.

Romano did not give a specific number, but confirmed that Haaland is City’s top payer, along with Belgian midfield maestro De Bruyne.

“I’m aware of the reports going around about Erling Haaland’s salaries at Manchester City, with some crazy numbers out there!” Roman said.

“Honestly I can’t be 100% accurate on Haaland’s salary as there are so many clauses and bonuses… for sure he is Manchester City’s highest paid player, with Kevin De Bruyne also on this list.”

City beat Southampton this weekend and will be hoping to finish the weekend top of the Premier League table as rivals Arsenal face a challenging home game against Liverpool later today.
