Exclusive: Christian Falk uses struggling Man Utd star to illustrate Jude Bellingham to Liverpool transfer point

The Bundesliga seems to have become the league for up-and-coming English stars to make a name for themselves before looking for new pastures.

Jadon Sancho was the shining example before his move to Manchester United, where he has struggled notably by comparison, a point raised by Christian Falk when discussing Jude Bellingham’s justification for leaving for Birmingham City and, now, potentially looking to move to Liverpool.

“There were many conversations with his father, Mark; his mother, Denise; there was also his agent, Mark Bennett,” the Bundesliga insider told Empire of the Kop exclusively.

“There were many points. One is, of course, that there was always a plan to return to the Premier League. I think that going to Germany is a step that many young English players took.

“[Jadon] Sancho did it at Dortmund, Bellingham saw it and it was a good play but, in the end, now we have to see which is the best club where he can perform”.

Many Reds fans will cross their fingers that, should the 19-year-old complete a move to Anfield, a similar fate does not befall England’s hottest prospect.

Given the quality of his performances for club and country, one would have to assume (knock on wood) that such an eventuality is highly unlikely to occur.

Certainly, all indications are that Bellingham would immediately be placed in the first XI upon his arrival, rated so highly that he is by Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool coaching staff.

Where that would leave our war chest and our hopes for more signings beyond the Borussia Dortmund star is a question for another day, although there is no doubt in our minds that every penny spent on the teenager will be well spent.
