Ex-Red says “natural movement of arms” means Gabriel call was correct

Liverpool were on the wrong end of two penalties against Arsenal, but a former Red believes the decision not to award Jurgen Klopp’s side a penalty for Gabriel’s handball was correct.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Stephen Warnock said: “I’ve heard a lot of people say they think it’s a penalty, but for me, I don’t really think it is. I don’t see it as a penalty at all for the natural position of the body and the natural movement of the arms.”

It never feels too good to criticize a former club player but our old left-back must have a very deformed body if he thinks raising his left arm in the air is ‘natural’.

The whole incident seems so in keeping with the new rules of having your arm in an unnatural position and it’s puzzling how it didn’t happen during the match.

Having this decision by Michael Oliver backed by both VAR and now also by the former defender is almost laughable.
