Europa League Round-of-16 Play-Off: Confirmed Ties

The draw for the Europa League round of 16 took place on Monday and the ties have now been confirmed.

The clubs that finished second in their respective 22/23 Europa League groups and those that completed their 22/23 Champions League campaign with a third place finish in their respective groups were featured in the Europa League round of 16 draw 22/23.

Manchester United and FC Barcelona top the draw for the Europa League round of 16, with the European greats set to square off for a place in the next stage of the competition.

Manchester United feature in the round of 16 draw after finishing second to Real Sociedad in Group E. Meanwhile, Barcelona are out of the Champions League after their third-place finish in Group C.

Juventus, who were also eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage, will face Ligue 1 side Nantes in the play-off for a place in the round of 16.

Sporting CP, eliminated from the Champions League on matchday 6 of the group stage, will face Midtjylland in the two-leg play-off.

Dutch Ajax, who finished third in Champions League Group A, will face German Union Berlin.

Bayer Leverkusen, another difference in the Champions League, will face AS Monaco, while RB Salzburg will face AS Roma.

Shakhtar Donetsk, who were also eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage, face Rennes.

Meanwhile, La Liga side Sevilla drew PSV Eindhoven in the round of 16 draw.

Eight teams, winners of each group of the Europa League 22/23, have already qualified for the round of 16. The winners of these eight ties will join the teams already qualified in the round of 16 draw.

The clubs that have already sealed their place in the Europa League round of 16 are Arsenal, Fenerbahce, Real Betis, Union Saint-Gilloise, Real Sociedad, Feyenoord, Freiburg, Ferencvaros.

Meanwhile, the draw for the Europa League round of 16 will take place on February 24, 2023, after play-off ties are complete. The play-off qualifiers, for their part, will take place on February 16 and 23 of next year.
