“I’m very happy with that” – Erik ten Hag reacts to Manchester United’s performance in Charlton win
Speaking after the match, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag revealed that he was very happy with his team’s performance in the win over Charlton Athletic.
“[The performance was] pretty good, i’m very happy with it. I think we started the game very well, there was good energy and good concentration. We pinned them in their half, we created chances, lots of threats and big chances,” said Erik ten Hag.
“I think Alejandro Garnacho was good one-on-one and then we scored a great goal. A brilliant goal, a team goal, but the finish by Antony dos Santos was excellent”, added Erik ten Hag.
Erik ten Hag also stressed that reaching the semi-finals is “nothing” and just about winning the EFL Cup title.
“[Reaching] the last four is nothing. It’s just about winning. But you have to go from game to game, leg to leg. We will see who comes out of the draw and we will prepare well. Now we are going to another league, the Premier League, so we put this game behind us and move on,” said Erik ten Hag.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will host Manchester City in a Premier League game in their next game. The Red Devils have a chance to close the gap to second-place Manchester City in the PL points table, just one point away.
Manchester United currently sit fourth in the points table with 35 points from 17 games, while Manchester City have 39 points from 17 games.
