Except for Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea, every Manchester United player had a season to forget last time.
Three managers were in charge of the club for varying lengths of time and failed to make it pay off as the club finished a disappointing sixth place.
Many unwanted records were broken along the way, with caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick suggesting that the club needed up to 10 players if they were to become competitive again.
Erik ten Hag’s reign has so far seen six new players join the club and United had lost their first two before embarking on a four-match Premier League winning streak.
And one of the biggest success stories of the season so far has been the re-emergence of Marcus Rashford as a force to be reckoned with.

He has played as a striker in the last four games and the mancuniano has already contributed three goals and two assists compared to five goals and two assists in all of last season.
And The Sun has now sensationally claimed that Ten Hag is a big fan of the new Rashford and that “Manchester United players think the team is better off with Rashford playing up front and Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench.”
The Dutch coach believes the 24-year-old has what it takes to make the striker position his own and can become one of the best in the world.
Such is their relationship at the moment that the United manager has even admitted to helping the academy graduate to return to the national team.

Ronaldo’s enigma
Regarding the Ronaldo conundrum, most players feel the pressure when playing alongside him as he keeps demanding the ball and the others feel like they are just sideshows to the main attraction.
And the Portuguese has not exactly covered himself with glory by missing the preseason. According to his teammates, his style does not fit with what the new coach expects from the squad.
“With Ronaldo on the pitch, the team feels pressured. All the players loved Ronaldo’s return but are frustrated that he missed pre-season.
“Ronaldo is not up to date and he relies on instinct, but that doesn’t work in Ten Hag’s system.”
United’s current number 7 has started just two games, both of which have ended in defeat. He has not yet opened his account for the season.
