Erik ten Hag On Facing Graham Potter For 2nd Time This Season

Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag has said facing Graham Potter for the second time this season will not have any further impact when Man Utd and Chelsea meet in the Premier League.

The Red Devils travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Potter’s Chelsea in their next game in the Premier League. Man Utd have already faced Potter this season.

Potter was manager of Brighton & Hove Albion when the Seagulls inflicted a 2-1 defeat on Man Utd in their first match of the 22/23 Premier League season.

The Englishman is the current manager of Chelsea, having been appointed by the Blues after parting ways with Thomas Tuchel. Chelsea are unbeaten since Potter took over the club, with five wins and two draws from seven games.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of Man Utd’s Premier League clash with Chelsea, Ten Hag was asked if facing Potter again would have any further impact.

Ten Hag played down such suggestions, insisting that Chelsea is a different team from Brighton and that the game against the Blues is different from the Seagulls.

The Man Utd manager also noted that Man Utd are further along in the process now than they were when the season started. The Dutchman also said that he now knows more about Potter, but insisted that it is not a fight between the two managers.

“It’s nothing, I think from that game. It’s a different team, a different game. We are further along in the process,” Ten Hag said.

“Now I know more about him and maybe in the first game, he knew more about me, Manchester United. It is not a fight between managers.

Meanwhile, Man Utd enter the game after producing arguably their best performance since Ten Hag took charge of the club.

The Red Devils were excellent against Tottenham Hotspur and won all three points with a 2-0 win. A deflected shot from Fred and a curl from Bruno Fernandes, both in the second half, sealed victory for Man Utd.

Man Utd is just one point behind Chelsea in the Premier League table. The Blues are fourth with 20 points and Man Utd fifth with 19 points. The Old Trafford side will have a chance to overtake Chelsea and move up to fourth place when the two teams meet at Stamford Bridge. The match between the two sides kicks off at 10:00 pm Indian Standard Time.
