Erik ten Hag issues injury update regarding Man Utd star

Manchester United earned a 3-1 win over Championship side Reading on Saturday night and booked their place in the next round of the FA Cup.

However, the Red Devils suffered an injury blow when Christian Eriksen injured his ankle.

The 30-year-old has been a key player for Manchester United this season and has been a regular starter under Erik ten Hag.

The Danish international midfielder suffered a heavy tackle reading striker Andy Carroll and had to be replaced by Fred shortly after Manchester United took the lead.

The Manchester United manager has now revealed (h/t Manchester Evening News) that the true extent of the injury has yet to be determined and a time frame for the midfielder’s return is difficult to set.

The Red Devils are still waiting for the results of the diagnosis and it remains to be seen if the 30-year-old can return to action soon.

“It’s always hard to say so soon after the game was over,” he said. “But it’s an ankle injury, and we have to see what the diagnosis is.”
