Erik ten Hag hints at future transfer plans in post match interview v West Ham United – Man United News And Transfer News

Erik ten Hag expressed the need for depth in the squad in his post-match interview against West Ham United.

Manchester United came out ahead 1-0 in a tense game at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford’s stunning header was enough to give the hosts all three points.

West Ham grew in the game and gave United some trouble in the last fifteen minutes.

Brilliant saves from David de Gea kept the Hammers at bay, much to the delight of Ten Hag.

In his post-match interview, he said:

“I think we have to manage the game better. It is empty.”

“Our philosophy is that we defend with eleven”.

The United coach was asked about Diogo Dalot’s performance, to which he replied:

“I am very happy with the development of Diogo [Dalot]. I think their defensive positions are growing from game to game.”

“Man United needs two good full-backs [on the left and right]because we have a lot of games to come.”

He also responded to Pep Guardiola’s comments on how United were on the way back.

“I think it’s a bit too fast, you see, the second half!”

“But, the spirit we have is fabulous and we have the quality to score goals. If we keep going, we’ll be heading in the right direction.”
