Erik ten Hag Disappointed With Man Utd Draw vs Newcastle United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said he was disappointed with the result after the Red Devils failed to secure a win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Man Utd hosted Newcastle United at Old Trafford in their final league game, which ended in a 0–0 draw. The Red Devils had the opportunity to take home the three points, but they failed to capitalize on them.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who made it to the starting eleven, had two goals disallowed. First, he pushed the ball home in the 48th minute of the match. But the referee annulled the goal for offside and rightly so. Replays showed that Ronaldo was well offside in the build-up to the goal.

Ronaldo thought he had given Man Utd the lead in the next minute, but that goal didn’t count either. A Newcastle United player rolled the ball to Nick Pope after being awarded a free kick. Ronaldo, under the impression that the game had been restarted, ran towards him and put the ball into an empty net. But the referee ruled it out, considering that the game had not restarted when the Newcastle United player made the touch.

Speaking after the match, Ten Hag admitted that he is disappointed with the result. But he insisted that he is happy with the team’s performance.

He also suggested that Man Utd should have killed the game, admitting that they had a chance. “I am disappointed with the result, but I am happy with the performance,” said Ten Hag.

“The pressing was good. We made them run. They [Newcastle] They are one of the best physical teams, they had cramps. In the end, we break them, but we don’t kill them. We had the opportunities.”

Against Newcastle, Man Utd dominated possession but were unable to translate that into goals.

Man Utd took 15 shots during the match, but only two of them hit the target. Newcastle United, meanwhile, made nine shots, two of them on target.

The result, meanwhile, leaves Manchester United with 16 points from their first nine league games this season. They have five wins, three losses and a draw so far in the English top flight this season.

The Old Trafford team is now 11 points behind Arsenal. The Gunners secured a 1-0 win over Leeds United in their previous game and now have 27 points from 10 games.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United have 15 points from their first 10 games. The Magpies are sixth in the table, one place behind Manchester United.
