Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is confident Cristiano Ronaldo will score more goals after the Portuguese superstar scored in their win over FC Sheriff.

Man Utd hosted FC Sheriff at Old Trafford in a Europa League group stage match and recorded a 3-0 victory over the Moldovan side. Ronaldo was one of Man Utd’s scorers as they collected all three points.

Diogo Dalot gave Man Utd the lead just before half time, heading in from a Christian Eriksen corner. Marcus Rashford made it 2-0 in the 65th minute. Luke Shaw sent a cross into the area and Rashford directed it past Maksym Koval and into the Sheriff’s net.

Ronaldo then sealed Man Utd’s victory with a goal in the 81st minute of the match, setting up a three-goal cushion for the Red Devils. His compatriot Bruno Fernandes sent a cross to the Sheriff’s area and Ronaldo headed the goal. Koval saved it, but Ronaldo reacted quicker to hit the rebound.

He scored his first goal of the season as Man Utd met Sheriff in September. The Red Devils secured a 2–0 victory in that game, with Ronaldo scoring the second goal. The 37-year-old converted from the penalty spot to score his first goal of the season.

Ronaldo’s second goal of the season came in their 2-1 win over Everton. The Portuguese international came on from the bench to replace Anthony Martial in the 29th minute of the match. The score was 1-1 when Ronaldo entered.

Ronaldo put Manchester United ahead just before half time. Casemiro intercepted the ball and sent Ronaldo through. The Portuguese then fired a low shot into the bottom corner to give Man Utd the lead.

Meanwhile, Man Utd take on West Ham in the Premier League in their next game. The match between the two teams kicks off at 9:45 pm Indian Standard Time on Sunday.
