After all but one team has appeared in weekday games, a full 10-game slate is available from Saturday through Monday. If you were curious, the only team that didn’t play last week was Manchester City. The Sky Blues’ game against Arsenal was postponed so the Gunners could make up for their Europa League game with PSV.
On the subject of league-leading Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s side seem to improve with a trip to Southampton. Arsenal are on a four match winning streak. That streak of form is by far the longest. In fact, only Liverpool can say that they have won consecutive games in recent meetings. Liverpool are looking for three wins in a row when they travel to the City Ground to play Nottingham Forest.
However, there is a game that catches everyone’s attention this weekend. On Saturday, Manchester United travel to London to face Chelsea. This top-four clash comes with both teams in good, but not perfect, form. Both United and Chelsea have two wins and a draw in their last three games. Chelsea have that one-point lead over United in the table after their five-game unbeaten run in the league.
Finally, the relegation battle is already something to watch. Wolves and Leicester, currently 18th and 19th in the table, meet at the Molineux on Sunday. Both clubs are desperate for a win, particularly as both clubs had ambitions to finish in the top half of the league.
GOAL RUSH also returns this weekend. The fast-style show is during the 9 a.m. kickoff window on Sunday, when there are four games.
