Enzo Fernandez finally breaks his silence on Manchester United links in latest comments – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United midfield target Enzo Fernandez has finally had his say on the constant reports linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

During the World Cup, United’s interest in the Benfica man intensified as he made seven appearances, scoring once and also registering an assist.

His impressive performances saw him win the Young Player of the Tournament award and alerted many clubs to his availability.

Liverpool are also interested in Fernández as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his midfield options.

Real Madrid are also fans of Fernández, although reports from Spain convey that Los Blancos have decided to explore a different path and now have their sights set on Jude Bellingham.

It was recently reported that United are now leading the race for the Argentine and have edged out Liverpool in the hotly contested race for Fernandez.

United are said to be willing to comply with the player’s astronomical release clause.

The 21-year-old addressed these reports and refused to be drawn into divulging his intentions.

The World Cup winner told GE Globo: “I don’t know about my future or proposals, that’s what my representative is taking care of.”

“I don’t want to get into the subject.”

“I’m focused on Benfica, we have a game on Friday”.

Benfica has made it clear more than once that the only way to get rid of Fernández in January is by paying his release clause.

His release clause is reportedly worth around €120m, a figure the Red Devils may be reluctant to part with amid cash problems at Old Trafford and the takeover process.

However, the player’s comments and his refusal to categorically rule out a move will be a source of encouragement to United fans.
