IBA Elite Women’s World Champion Rashida Ellis (Lynn, Mass.) and 2021 Junior Pan Am Games bronze medalist Donte Layne (Elmont, NY) scored two wins for Team USA during the second day of boxing at the 2022 USA Boxing International Invitational in Pueblo, Col.

Ellis made her return to the ring since winning the World Championships in May with a strong performance, drawing four of the five judges cards against Wenlu Yang of China, the 2016 IBA Elite Women’s World Champion.
Arjan Iseni (Staten Island, NY) fought hard against Kevin Schumann of Germany, however, he failed to advance to the semi-finals.
Light flyweight duo Jazzelle Bobadilla (Ewa Beach, Hawaii) and Jennifer Lozano (Laredo, Texas) saw their tournament run come to an end tonight after coming up short against Chinese Meiyi Hu and Filipino Aira Cordero Villegas, respectively. Bobadilla and Lozano will leave Pueblo with bronze medals.
