The classic

This is the third of five meetings between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Each team has a victory in this season’s editions of the historic derby. Real Madrid won the first duel, 3-1 at home in a league game. The second time they met was in Riyadh for the Spanish Super Cup. That too was a 3-1 score. However, that one went to Barcelona.

This game at the Santiago Bernabéu could define a trophy, something these two will be familiar with in terms of competing against each other. There is a second leg in a month. However, going into the reverse encounter with an advantage can dictate how the second game plays out.
