Eduardo Camavinga ‘untouchable’ says Real Madrid boss

The Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has made it clear that he does not want to sell any of his players.

The Spanish giants are currently in the midst of another solid season. Ancelotti’s men occupy second place in the LaLiga table, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey and will face Liverpool in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

“This squad is untouchable,” Ancelotti proclaimed. “There are players who give everything like [Dani] ceballos and [Marco] Asensio. [Toni] kroos and [Luka] The Modrics are untouchable. That doesn’t mean they have to play in every game. But these players are making history and they will continue to do so at this club.”

Camavinga does not play as much as he would like

In addition to wanting to hold on to his established stars, Ancelotti has no intention of losing Eduardo Camavinga either. The 20-year-old French international has found it a bit difficult to find playing time during the current campaign.

In fact, the midfielder has barely started in five LaLiga games so far this season. Rumors have even emerged that Camavinga would be open to a loan out of the Santiago Bernabéu.

The Evening Standard reported on Friday that Arsenal were interested in signing the Madrid midfielder on loan. The Gunners could use a midfield reinforcement or two, but a deal for Camavinga seems highly unlikely to work.

Ancelotti was asked about the relationship between Arsenal and Camavinga during this press conference this Saturday. “Eduardo is as untouchable as Modric and Kroos”, stated the Real Madrid coach.

Camavinga’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, who represents Arsenal duo Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding, also told Fabrizio Romano on Saturday that the deal would not go through. “There is no truth,” Barnett asserted. “Of course, all the clubs in the world would like him, but he is very happy at Real Madrid and Real Madrid is very happy with Camavinga.”

Gunners should look for other options in midfield

Arsenal will now have to turn their attention to other targets. Declan Rice is apparently at the top of the North London club’s wish list in the role. Although the England international has reportedly been praising the Gunners in private, a summer move seems more likely.

Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans has also been linked with Arsenal in recent months. The dynamic midfielder’s time with the Foxes appears to be coming to an end, as his current contract expires in June.
