Eddie Hearn sues Jake Paul for $75k over Glenn Feldman fix claim

Eddie Hearn is suing YouTuber Jake Paul for more than $75,000 over claims that Glenn Feldman is being paid by Matchroom Boxing’s promoter.

Paul made the accusations in an interview and seemed naive in thinking nothing would come of them.

The ex-Disney child actor had a good relationship with Hearn at first. The pair worked together on Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano in New York last April.

Shortly after depositing his money, Hearn seemed content to tell Jake Paul some home truths about his boxing ability.

Since then, the relationship between them has deteriorated. Paul’s September 20 interview is now in the line of fire.

Hearn wants an apology from Paul, at least as his retraction of the suggestion that the Essex man pays certain judges.

Jake Paul is being sued by Eddie Hearn, one of the most powerful people in boxing, after The Problem Child claimed the promoter paid a judge in two recent high-profile bouts.

The lawsuit filed obtained by TMZ Sports says Paul, 25, “made outrageously false and unsubstantiated allegations” to IFL TV.

Paul said: “I still think Amanda Serrano won the fight [versus Katie Taylor]. And then you see how this judge Glenn Feldman had the biggest difference between Taylor and Serrano. Pretty much everyone had a tie: tie or Amanda win.

“But there’s this judge, Glenn Feldman, who gave Taylor a huge difference, gave him rounds that Amanda clearly beat Taylor.”

He went on to accuse Hearn of handpicking to work on the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua. Paul claims that Feldman was paid to intentionally score for Joshua.

Usyk vs Joshua 2

WBN had Joshua only win one round. The judges who saw Usyk win scored 116-112 and 115-113. Still too close for what happened in the ring.

But Feldman gave Joshua 115-113 even though there was no evidence to support AJ winning seven rounds in the fight.

“Glenn Feldman shows up in Saudi Arabia and tags Anthony Joshua to win. Everyone who saw the fight. It is not a split decision.

“Usyk had a landslide victory. He clearly won the fight. This judge, Glenn Feldman, gives it to Anthony Joshua.

“It’s like a repeat crime here. This kind of shit. I’m going to call it here in boxing because it’s nonsense.

“Clearly Matchroom Boxing is paying this guy money.”

Attempting to claim that he thought long and hard before making the statement, all his explanation did was give Hearn ammunition to take legal action.

Jake Paul Claims Glenn Feldman’s Solution

“It is a bold statement and an accusation that I do not take lightly, but it is blatantly obvious,” Paul alleged. “They’re not even trying to hide it.

“You would think they have a different judge who screwed up the Taylor-Serrano score. You’d think they’d get a different judge to bring to Saudi Arabia, especially since he’s from the US.

“Why does he suddenly appear in Saudi Arabia? You would think they would look to a different judge to try to hide the corruption they are bringing to this sport, but it is so blatantly obvious.”

Paul’s video interview was included in the lawsuit. Attorney Frank Salzano acts on behalf of Matchroom Boxing.

So far, Paul has not retracted or commented on Hearn’s action. He could end any future working relationship between them.

Paul, in the interview, also acknowledged that it was “a bold statement and an accusation that I don’t think is likely, but is blatantly obvious. And they’re not even trying to hide it.”

Sorry

TMZ reported that Hearn called the comments “outlandishly untrue,” which may be part of why Paul is now working with Frank Warren.

Serrano fights on a card in Manchester broadcast by BT Sport. It means that Paul could have been harboring bad feelings towards Hearn for months.

If Paul, who is facing Anderson Silva in his next non-fight, apologizes on Monday, he may be able to prevent further action from Hearn.
