Paul Pogba decided against surgery when he first suffered a knee injury during pre-season.
He had talked to some specialists and decided that he would be much better off if he underwent conservative therapy in order to preserve his World Cup dream.
However, that didn’t work, and he has now had surgery and will be looking for a speedy recovery.
The decision to delay surgery turned out to be a bad one because he wasted a month’s recovery period.
The doctor who finally operated on him has now revealed that the midfielder aggravated the problem by choosing an alternative to surgery.
Professor Roberto Rossi said, quoted by Calciomercato:
“The external meniscus injury was complex because the tissue was fragmented. He had gotten worse and when the player tried to force him while he was running down the field he had a joint lock in his knee. Conservative therapy did not work. On the contrary, the injury has worsened.”
Juve FC says
Pogba wanted to play in the World Cup and you can’t blame him for not wanting a prolonged stay on the sidelines.
Now is not the time to worry about whether he will make it to the World Cup and we should not rush him back into action.
Max Allegri has accepted that the midfielder will be out of action for now and we must focus on other players in the team.
