Diaz dealt ‘surgery’ blow after knee ligament injury in Dubai

Liverpool fans were delighted to see the start of the Dubai camp coincide with the return of Luis Díaz from injury and it was clear that the player was also delighted to be back on the pitch.

This return was to be heartbreakingly brief, however, as the Colombian has now been sent home to Merseyside and journalist Pipe Sierra has provided the following update on his health:

‘Luis Díaz will undergo surgery tomorrow to recover from the lateral collateral ligament injury of his knee ???????????? ???? #Liverpool expects the Colombian to play again in March’.

Having suffered the knee problem during the game against Arsenal in early October, we’ve already been without our number 23 for two months and to hear that it could now be another three on top of that is devastating.

The 25-year-old must be going through quite a mental test, after his comeback was snatched away from him and let’s hope this wasn’t caused by an attempt to speed up his own comeback.

At least now we have a club doctor once again and hopefully these issues are not something that happens too often, but the news about the former Porto player and Diogo Jota being out on the resumption of club football due to injury, certainly not something we wanted to hear.
