Adrien Rabiot scored a brace and Dusan Vlahovic scored one for Juventus in the match, with Maria assisting on all three goals. Against Maccabi Haifa, Juventus opened the scoring in the 35th minute through Rabiot, assisted by Frenchman Di María.

Juventus doubled their lead in the 50th minute with Di Maria this time becoming Vlahovic’s supplier. After Maccabi Haifa pulled one back, Rabiot made it 3-1 for Juventus by heading in from a Di Maria corner.

The three assists that Di María recorded for Juventus in the Champions League brings his total assist tally in the competition to 38.

That means Di Maria has overtaken compatriot Lionel Messi in the all-time list of Champions League assists. The Paris Saint-Germain superstar has provided 37 assists in the Champions League, one fewer than Di Maria.

Meanwhile, Di Maria currently sits second on the all-time Champions League assists list. His teammate at Real Madrid and current Man Utd player, Cristiano Ronaldo, occupies the first place of the loss.

The Portuguese superstar has made a total of 42 assists in the Champions League, four more than Di Maria has managed so far.

But Di Maria has a chance to close the gap and even surpass Ronaldo’s numbers this season. Ronaldo is missing from the Champions League this season after his current club, Man Utd, finished sixth in the Premier League last season.

Meanwhile, despite victory over Maccabi Haifa, Juventus languishes in third place in Group H of the Champions League.

The Old Lady have played three group stage games so far in their 22/23 Champions League campaign. The Italian team lost their first two matches, against PSG and Benfica, before securing a win over Maccabi Haifa.

PSG lead the group with seven points from their first three matches, while Benfica sit second, also with seven points. Maccabi Haifa is bottom of the table, having lost all three games they have played.

Juventus resume their Serie A campaign below. They face their fierce rivals, AC Milan, in their next game in the Italian top flight.
