“When it develops, if you don’t look at the incident, look at the referee. He has the best position he can have on a football field. He has everything in front of him, he can see the incident, the crash, Mendy, Bowen, he sees the goalkeeper on the ground. However, when he went to VAR he saw the same footage and he saw the same angle, so I don’t know what changed.
“I think the VAR focused on the goalkeeper, he felt he was injured, he didn’t have the feeling that Andy Madeley had on the pitch and that became the focus.
