Declan Rice professes his love for Old Trafford in Manchester United transfer hint – Man United News And Transfer News

The entire Manchester United squad stood their ground as they navigated a barrage of late pressure from West Ham United to ultimately end up winning the contest 1-0.

Marcus Rashford scored his 100th for the club and silenced his critics who recently pointed to his inability to finish off easy chances when they blasted their way into goal.

The England international wasn’t the only player to come under pressure in recent weeks, as David de Gea’s future has also been under the scanner and the club are reportedly hesitant to start the one-year extension on his contract.

DDG Foiled Rice

The Spaniard pulled off some fabulous saves and the last one was the pick of the lot. United target Declan Rice curled one fiercely, but United No 1 proved up to the task.

Rice will be disappointed that he didn’t salvage a point for his team, but he should be pleased with the performance he put up against Ten Hag’s team.

The English international’s deft handling of defense and passing quality have meant that United have looked at him quite often in recent years with former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer close to acquiring his services.

The 23-year-old is reaching the height of his powers and admitted his love of playing at Old Trafford considering the reputation the venue has and the players who have graced the pitch over the years.

“It sure is inspiring, it’s Old Trafford,” Rice told Sky Sports, as he took a look at the famous ground.

“You think about the heritage, the great games that have been here, the best players that have played here. You want to come here as a player and stamp your mark and your authority: one to get a win and two to play well yourself.”

Rice droplet transfer tip?

The midfielder’s comments are sure to raise some feathers and speculation will start to rise once again in anticipation of a summer 2023 move.

United are definitely looking for a midfielder with new signings Casemiro and Christian Eriksen who are currently in their 30s. Frenkie de Jong and Jude Bellingham have also been linked with a move.

Whether Ten Hag will turn an interest in Rice again remains to be seen, but the former Chelsea academy star has certainly caught the eye of the entire league with manager David Moyes announcing that West Ham will ask for more than £100m for their star asset.

Rice currently has two years left on his contract and fans will no doubt be pleased with his revelation. Now it remains to be seen what plans United have up their sleeves.
