Dean Huijsen sets a first team target for himself

One Juventus youngster set to break into the first team soon is Dean Huijsen and the Next Gen defender is hoping that will happen next season.

At 17, Huijsen is already one of the club’s most talked about players and has been compared to Matthijs de Ligt, whom he acknowledges was a benchmark.

The Dutchman has impressed for the Bianconeri U19 and Next Gen squad and his next natural step is a season in the first team.

He admits that this is his goal and hopes to achieve it as soon as next season. He said via Tuttomercatoweb:

“In training I marked Vlahovic, Morata, Dybala. They are all top players. I regretted the sale of de Ligt who is a benchmark for me, I would have liked to play with him, but the comparison that brings us closer does not pressure me, on the contrary, I am glad because he is a great player.

“I hope to reach the first team next year, or I’ll go on loan to a Serie A or Serie B club to experiment.”

Juve FC says

Huijsen is a huge talent and shows that he is much better than his peers at youth level, meaning it is a matter of time before his first team breakthrough comes.

Although it looks bigger than our youth teams, you need to be humble and keep learning as much as you can before you get your first team chances.
