Darwin Núñez was on the scoresheet when Liverpool booked their place in the round of 16 following a 3-0 win against Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
However, his goal was not the only reason he made headlines, as a clip from the game circulated on social media showing Nunez’s very late reaction to a possible foul.
In the video, Ajax’s Calvin Bassey tried to shield the ball from Nunez before using his arm to push the Uruguayan away.
When his arm lightly grazed the striker’s face in the process, it took Nunez several seconds before he dropped theatrically to the ground, grabbing his face.
