Neville claimed that Núñez was Liverpool’s best player against Arsenal and found the Uruguayan “really good”.

“I thought he [Nunez] he was really good, even in the tough parts of the game for Liverpool, he was their best player, his runs were good,” Neville said on the Gary Neville podcast.

The 23-year-old scored for Liverpool in the 34th minute, restoring parity after Martinelli put Arsenal ahead.

Meanwhile, Nunez’s performance so far this season has been mixed. He joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window, with the Reds signing him from Portuguese side Benfica.

Núñez has so far appeared in nine games for Liverpool and has scored three goals. He scored his first goal for Liverpool as they secured a 3-1 win over Manchester City to win the FA Community Shield.

His second goal came in Liverpool’s 22/23 Premier League opener when he shared points with Fulham after a 2-2 draw. He had gone goalless in the next six matches before finding a goal against Liverpool.

Meanwhile, speaking after their loss to Arsenal, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ruled the Reds out of the Premier League title race. The Merseyside team is already 14 points behind Arsenal.

Liverpool will face Rangers in the Champions League group stage in their next game. Klopp’s men sit second in Group A with six points from three games. They had secured a 2-0 win over Rangers in the previous game. And they will look for another victory and three points.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s next game in the Premier League is against defending champions Manchester City.
