Danilo sends a message after his injury against Serbia

Juventus defender Danilo has assured fans that he will be back on the pitch as soon as possible and thanks them for their support after picking up an ankle injury against Serbia.

The Brazilian is a key player for his club and country and was part of the Brazil squad that defeated Serbia 2-0 in their first World Cup match.

The Serbs were very physical and made life difficult for the South Americans, with Danilo and Neymar injured in the ankle.

The Juve man has now responded to the outpouring of love he has received since the injury, posting on Instagram:

“As I always say, there are two paths: ‘Cry and regret, or face the situation head-on and emerge stronger from it. I’ve been choosing the latter for 31 years, and it worked. If necessary, it will be 25 hours of treatment to recover in time to play even for a minute. In the meantime, my energies will be with my teammates at every launch of the game and I want it to be like that for all Brazilians. It’s almost time for the comeback! Thanks for all the messages.”

Juve FC says

Danilo is one of the strongest players we know of and we expect the defender to be back in shape sooner than expected.

The Brazilian is also a key player for us, so our club doctor will be in contact with the team doctors to ensure he receives the best treatment.

Hopefully this will be a minor issue and won’t take long to resolve.
