Cyrus Pattinson Floors Jorick Luisetto Twice in 6th Round Stoppage On Hughes-Galahad Undercard

Cyrus Pattinson was scheduled for the first ten-round fight of his career, but he only needed six to post his latest win.

The former amateur standout and current welterweight prospect delivered his most complete performance to date in a sixth-round knockout of France’s Jorick Luisetto. Pattison sent Luisetto to the canvas twice, the last producing an immediate stoppage at 1:59 of the sixth round in the opening bout of a five-fight DAZN show Saturday night at Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England.

Pattinson was consistent and effective in his body attack, repeatedly landing his right hook into Luisetto’s handsome frame in their battle of southpaws. Luisetto searched for a home for his own right hook upstairs, often coming up short as Pattinson offered constant in-and-out motion to avoid the tackle.

A clash of heads left Luisetto with a high cut to the top of the right side of his scalp in the fourth round. The sequence was an outlier in a relatively clean fight. Pattinson boxed from angles in the fifth round, continuing to body strike and rock Luisetto with a straight left hand over the top of the Frenchman’s guard.

Pattinson (5-0, 3KOs) threw a hard right hook in the sixth round, from which Luisetto never recovered. The undefeated Englishman connected with the gun high and to the body, along with a left hand high as the visiting Frenchman crashed to the canvas. A follow-up sequence brought Luisetto to his feet, eventually hitting the ground as referee Bob Williams called off the contest.

Headlining the show, Maxi Hughes (25-5-2, 5KOs) defends his IBO lightweight title against former IBF featherweight champion Kid Galahad (28-2, 17KOs), who is moving up in weight. Also on the show, WBA/IBO junior middleweight champion Hannah Rankin (12-5, 3KOs) defends her crown against former WBC/IBO junior lightweight champion Terri Harper (12-1-1, 6KOs), who moves up three divisions after only recently campaigning at lightweight.
