Cuadrado was propsed to Inter before extending Juventus contractJuvefc.com

Despite his recent struggles, Juan Cuadrado remains a favorite of Juventus fans, and part of the reason could be his recurring heroism against Inter.

The Colombian has the ability to produce stellar performances against the Nerazzurri. Who can forget his draw in the dramatic win at the Giuseppe Meazza that ultimately sealed the 2017/18 Scudetto in our favour, or his courageous performance at the Allianz Stadium in the penultimate round of the 2020/21 campaign that helped the team secure a Champions League place.

The Beneamata are therefore all too familiar with the winger’s prowess, with one report claiming they may have added him to Simone Inzaghi’s ranks last summer.

According to Calciomercato, an intermediary proposed Cuadrado to Inter last season when his contract with Juventus was about to expire.

Ultimately, the 34-year-old decided to activate an automatic renewal clause which left management upset as Mauricio Arrivabene hoped to reach an agreement with the player that included lower wages.

Juve FC says

While Juventus officials were furious at the automatic extra time, imagine what the fans’ reaction would have been if Cuadrado had ended up at Inter.

But after his maneuver, management arguably mistrusts the player and his entourage, and could allow the veteran to leave for good at the end of the season.

In addition, his performances during the first stages of the campaign have not exactly helped to convince the club.
