Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia named Portugal and Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo as his idol.
Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers the world has ever seen. The 37-year-old has been playing at the senior level for two decades. He and a certain Lionel Messi dominated the soccer world for more than a decade during their heyday.
Ronaldo has inspired a number of young footballers, with the Portuguese striker being considered by many to be their idol. Ronaldo, despite his problems on the pitch this season, is still considered one of the best footballers in the world.
21-year-old Georgian footballer Kvaratskhelia named Ronaldo as his idol and also revealed who his idol was before he became the Man Utd icon.

Kvaratskhelia said that Real Madrid legend Guti was her idol before Ronaldo. “Cristiano Ronaldo is my idol, although the first was Guti from Real Madrid. When he would play in the streets of Tbilisi with my friends, he would wear a white shirt and write his name on the back,” Kvaratskhelia told Il Corriere Dello Sport. [via Football Italia].
Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli in July earlier this year. Napoli signed the winger from Dinamo Batumi. His current contract with the Italian outfit runs until 2027.
Kvaratskhelia has started work on her new club. He has so far made 11 appearances for Napoli and has already amassed six goals.
Meanwhile, Napoli have made a stellar start to the 22/23 season. They sit atop the Serie A points table with 20 points from their first eight matches. They are unbeaten in the league with six wins and two draws.
Napoli have so far maintained a perfect run in the 22/23 Champions League campaign. They are the first in Group A with three wins in three games. One of those victories came against English giants Liverpool, whom they thrashed 4-1 in their first match of CL 22/23.
Kvaratskhelia will aim to continue delivering the goods and help her side maintain their good form in the future.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has had a difficult start to the 22/23 season. The Portuguese attacker has played nine games for Man Utd but has only scored one goal.
Apparently, Ronaldo has also lost his place in Man Utd’s starting XI. The star striker has made it to the starting eleven just four times. The rest were appearances from the bench. He was also an unused substitute when Man Utd met Manchester City in their previous Premier League game.
