However, when Dutch manager Erik ten-Hag arrived for the first time in his long career, the Portuguese lost his place in the starting eleven.

His confidence took a big hit and even the great Cristiano Ronaldo struggled to score goals. He looked worse when he missed a touch from six yards in Manchester United’s final Europa League match against Omonia Nicosia.

The question that had been raised since the beginning of the season became stronger. Are we seeing the end of Cristiano Ronaldo?

Now, finally, the Portuguese striker has knocked down all his critics and scored his first in this current English Premier League campaign.

After coming on as a replacement for the injured Anthony Martial, Ronaldo made a run from the left flank and then scored with a low kick and left foot against Everton. The goal put United ahead in the match against the Merseyside side and helped them to a 2–1 victory over them.

This was also a very special goal for Cristiano Ronaldo. With the goal, he has now become the first player to score 700 goals in club football.

After the match, Cristiano Ronaldo tweeted: “Great win guys! Another step in the right direction! #We are united”.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has beaten all outsiders and become one of the best in the world. This achievement of 700 goals shows once again the consistency and class of him.

United fans are now hoping that Ronaldo will get some much-needed momentum from this strike and score plenty in the coming long season.
