Crawford On Spence: “This Is The Fight Where It Leaves No Doubt Whatsoever About Crawford And His Skills”

Terence Crawford has done his best to navigate his career through a sea of questionable voices and life sentences. At the age of 34, Crawford struts around his palatial estate with countless world titles scattered in every room.

While proud of his accomplishments, Crawford’s resume has been closely watched and mostly dissected in public view. Even now, with the WBO 147-pound crown under his arm, Crawford, through no fault of his own, hasn’t faced the toughest competition.

Still, despite the ongoing debate surrounding his accomplishments, Crawford is widely regarded as one of the best fighters in the world, a distinction also shared by unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.

After years of both fighters criticizing who should be considered the man to beat at 147 pounds, the pair seem closer than ever to meeting in the ring. As ESPN’s Mike Coppinger first reported, both Crawford and Spence have agreed to the terms of an undisputed welterweight showdown that could take place on November 19 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

If contract negotiations continue and Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs) manages to pick up a win against the mighty southpaw, the win for Crawford will mean much more than just signifying his second run for the undisputed title.

Having heard his detractors play down their praise and dismiss the legitimacy of his opponents, Crawford suspects his doubters will be speechless if he becomes the first man to defeat Spence on fight night.

“I feel like this is the fight where he leaves no doubt about Terence Crawford and his abilities, his career, leaves everything alone,” Crawford said on Top Billin’ with Bill Bellamy.

Although unofficial, the terms of their pending agreement have come to light. In addition to November 19 being the scheduled date, both sides will have the opportunity to enact an immediate rematch. Also, according to Coppinger, Crawford agreed to receive the short end of the financial pie, a long-standing sticking point in making their mega matchup a reality.
