Chelsea’s interest in historical target will really test reserve – Talk Chelsea

Chelsea have been involved in many transfer sagas over the years, and some of these sagas have not always progressed and have always remained interest only.

Every transfer window we hear that Declan Rice is a Chelsea target, and it looks like that’s not going to change in the next two windows either.

West Ham have a stronghold in the England midfielder, but that stronghold will falter as the windows roll by, simply because their contract will run out for each.

Chelsea’s latest interest, reiterated today by The Telegraph’s reliable Matt Law, will really test West Ham’s reserve going forward.

It’s a transfer saga that has a real sense of destiny about it. I just don’t see him going to any club other than Chelsea when he leaves West Ham, and we know he will leave West Ham, whether it’s in the next transfer window, the summer or the following year, it seems bound to happen.

Your club will do well to finally hear offers next summer, because that could be the last chance they have to ask you for a suitable fee.

But it’s clear that Chelsea wanted Declan Rice during the Roman Abramovich era but didn’t want to pay his high price. It is clear that Frank Lampard as a coach was asking about him. It’s clear again that Thomas Tuchel also wanted to sign Rice.

And now, it’s clear once again that our new owners want to sign Rice to Chelsea. It really feels like a matter of time. Maybe Rice haters will have to get used to it!
