England beat Senegal 3-0 last night in the World Cup round of 16 to set up a quarter-final match against France on Saturday night.
Two players from England really stood out for me once again. Obviously Jude Bellingham was one of them and easily the man of the match. But Declan Rice, once again, reiterated for me the ‘unsung’ job he does on the field, and if it weren’t for him, players like Bellingham and Phil Foden might not have been as effective as they were. The fact that Rice was there just allowed Bellingham to come out and play freely, and he certainly did.
Bellingham is going to be THE most wanted player in the summer, when he is expected to leave Dortmund for big money. A team will have to pay VERY high to get Bellingham, and Chelsea will certainly be in the mix.
Personally, I can see him going to Manchester City, but you can never rule anything out at this stage. But Jude is going to be an absolute world champion and it’s scary, especially if he goes to City, or even Liverpool. However, all the big clubs are committed to him.
Also on Declan Rice, Chelsea have a good chance to finally land him in a move that seems destined to happen. So he can bet his bottom dollar that Chelsea will be heavily involved in both of these major transfer stories that are expected to wrap up in the summer.
I really don’t think we’ll sign both, but it looks like we’ll at least try!
