Chelsea Star Christian Pulisic Excited to Play for Graham Potter

Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic is hoping to prove himself against new Blues manager Graham Potter.

Chelsea have named Potter as their new manager after parting ways with Thomas Tuchel. The Blues relieved Tuchel of his duties after his poor start to the 22/23 season.

The Stamford Bridge side have so far played six games in the Premier League this season. They have only added 10 points in those games, out of a possible 18. The West Londoners have secured three wins, one draw and suffered two defeats.

The Premier League side then kicked off their 22/23 Champions League campaign with a game against Dinamo Zagreb in the group stage. They fell to a 1–0 loss in that game, after which they fired Tuchel.

Pulisic said he now has a fresh start and is excited to play for Graham Potter. “I feel good to be back, honestly,” Pulisic said.

He added: “I have a fresh start now, and I am excited to play for the new coach. So I’m really looking forward to it. I just have to prove myself, like everyone does, and like I’ve done before.“

Meanwhile, Pulisic had fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea under Tuchel. The USMNT international was also linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge team in the summer transfer window.

However, he ultimately stayed in the Premier League side but has mostly been limited to appearances off the bench.

He has appeared in eight games for Chelsea so far but has only had 177 minutes of playing time. Pulisic will be looking to improve his playing time at the Premier League side following Potter’s arrival.

Chelsea faced RB Salzburg in the Champions League in Potter’s first game in charge of the Blues. Pulisic made a brief appearance off the bench in that match, coming on in the 84th minute.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are back in action after the international break in September. The Blues will take on Crystal Palace in an away fixture in their next Premier League game. They will be looking to win all three points and close the gap to league leaders Arsenal to five points.

Chelsea will face AC Milan in the Champions League group stage. This time they have not won in the Champions League and their goal will be to secure a victory over the Italian team.
