Premier League Chelsea will be without Reece James until a month after the England international suffered an injury during their win over Bournemouth in the English top flight.
Chelsea faced AFC Bournemouth in their first Premier League game after the winter break and the Blues went on to win again in the English top flight, securing a 2–0 win.
First-half goals from Kai Havertz and Mason Mount sealed victory for Chelsea, but the west London side were hit hard when Reece James limped off with a knee injury in the second half.
The match against Bournemouth was Reece James’ first since recovering from a knee injury suffered during a Champions League game against AC Milan in October. However, his return to action did not go as planned as he suffered another injury.

Reece James will be out of action for up to a month
The injury suffered by Reece James is not as serious as initially feared, but the 23-year-old will be sidelined for up to a month.
Chelsea issued a statement confirming that they will be without the right-back for up to a month.

“Defender Reece James underwent an evaluation earlier today after being substituted for the second half of last night’s 2-0 Premier League win over AFC Bournemouth due to a knee injury,” a statement read. statement published on the official Chelsea website.
“Unfortunately, the scan results confirmed a mishap for the 23-year-old, and Reece will now be ruled out for up to a month.”
Reece James has appeared in 12 games for Chelsea in the 22/23 season, eight of them in the Premier League and four in the UEFA Champions League. He also scored twice and provided two assists for the Blues in the current season.
He recently signed a contract extension with Chelsea. Reece James has signed a new six-year contract with the Premier League side which extends his stay at the club until 2028.
Meanwhile, Chelsea currently sit eighth in the Premier League points table with 24 points from 15 games. They are 16 points behind Arsenal, who have 40 points from 15 games.
In the race for the top four, Chelsea are six points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who sit fourth in the table having played one more game than the Blues.
