Chelsea Have Shortlisted Mason Mount’s Replacement As England International Is in Last Year Of His Contract

According to TransferMarkt, Chelsea have shortlisted Lorenzo Pellegrini and Yéremy Pino as candidates to replace Mason Mount.

Mount will enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the current season. The Blues are in talks to extend his contract, but have not yet reached an agreement with him. They have identified Pellegrini and Pino as possible candidates to replace Monte if he does not sign a contract extension with the club.

Pellegrini is a key member of the AS Roma squad. The Italian international has made 150 league appearances for the Roma outfit so far, scoring 22 goals in the process. He won the 2020-21 AS Roma Player of the Season award and was also named UEFA Europa Conference League Player of the Season last year.

Meanwhile, Pino has established himself as one of Spain’s most talented midfielders since breaking into Villareal’s senior squad during the 2020-21 season.

He has made 87 appearances in all competitions for the Yellow Submarine so far, registering 15 goals and six assists. The 19-year-old midfielder helped the Spanish club win the UEFA Europa League in 2020-21.

His performances at the Estadio de la Cerámica earned him a place on the Spain national team. He has represented his country six times since making his debut last season.
