FA Cup Draw – The draw for the third round of the FA Cup has taken place and it has become clear who will face whom for a place in the next stage of the competition.
Defending FA Cup champions Liverpool will face Wolverhampton Wanderers for a place in the next round of the competition.
In a blockbuster clash, defending Premier League champions Manchester City and Chelsea will meet in this round of the FA Cup. That tops out the draw for the FA Cup third round, with both clubs from the Premier League’s Big Six set to battle for a place in the fourth round.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will face Everton in the FA Cup third round, while current Premier League leaders Arsenal will take on Oxford United. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur take on Portsmouth in the FA Cup third round.
Newcastle United, who have impressed in the first half of the 22/23 Premier League campaign, will take on Sheffield Wednesday. Southampton and Crystal Palace will also meet for a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
There are still 64 teams in the competition. Of those 32 will be eliminated in the third round and another 32 teams will advance to the fourth round.
