There were a couple of big events at Manchester United last week when the Glazers announced the possibility of a full sale of the club and the club mutually agreed to terminate the contract of star striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
The homecoming of one of United’s famous sons was not supposed to end so bitterly, but after his incendiary interview with Piers Morgan, the club had no choice.
And while the chapter might have ended between the pair, United players, regardless of their nations, have been hounded for their reaction to the interview and the club’s subsequent decision.
The consequences of the CR7 interview
When compatriot Bruno Fernandes was repeatedly asked along with Premier League stars Bernardo Silva and Ruben Neves, the Portugal captain spoke up, calling on the media to focus on asking about the World Cup.
But other United stars like Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof have already given their opinion and now another current star has expressed his opinion on the subject.

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro revealed he was saddened by his friend’s departure, but admitted he knew Ronaldo well enough to say the decision he made was to improve his career.
The midfield general also said that although he has not yet interacted with his former team-mate, he admitted that the Portuguese is one of the best players in the world.
Casemiro’s message to CR7
“I have not exchanged any messages with him, but Cristiano Ronaldo is a player with a lot of experience and he knows what is best for his career,” he said ahead of his country’s match with Switzerland on Monday.
“Of course we are sad that a player like him is leaving because we are talking about one of the best players of all time.”
And there was also a cheeky message for the striker wishing him the best for all matches, except if the two meet in the future.
“I wish him all the best in his football career, except when he plays against me, but I wish him all the best.”
Casemiro has played with Ronaldo for five seasons at Real Madrid and half a season here at United.
