Casemiro posts incredible stats in masterclass against Everton – the numbers – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United fought hard for a 2-1 victory against Everton at Goodison Park.

United were eager to return to winning ways after the Etihad disaster and did so courtesy of first-half goals from Antony and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Red Devils attempted 12 shots on goal, just one more than the Toffees.

Of United’s 12 shots, four were on target, including the two biggest goals. Everton, on the other hand, had two shots on goal.

Erik ten Hag’s men managed an impressive 69% possession to Everton’s 31%.

The team recorded 602 passes with a passing accuracy of 83%, almost double their opponent’s 362 passes with a success rate of 78%.

United’s standout player in the win was Casemiro.

The Brazilian came on for the first time from the start in place of Scott McTominay and he did it brilliantly.

The 30-year-old recovered well and quickly after his mistake in the first five minutes of play saw Frank Lampard’s side take the lead through Alex Iwobi.

Casemiro had an 81% accuracy in passing the balls he tried to deliver to his teammates. Of these passes, two were key passes.

United’s deepest midfielder of the night made nine mouthwatering ball recoveries and won five duels on the ground.

The former Madrid player managed four tackles, the most of any player on the pitch, and completed three long passes.

Casemiro capped off his brilliant performance with a super assist for Ronaldo and United’s second to secure the three points earned.

Tonight has only served to reinforce what just about every United fan knew: Casemiro’s class would finally shine through and see him claim a starting spot in the team.
